Saint John the Baptist Schools participates in a number of single-event fundraisers and several ongoing programs throughout the school year. If you are interested in getting involved with any of these efforts please refer to our CONTACTS page to contact the appropriate person.

Fall Fundraiser (August/September)

The Fall Fundraiser is SJB Catholic Schools’ second largest fundraising event (behind Blizzard Ball). The Fall Fundraiser provides an opportunity for students to earn rewards by selling magazines, gifts and jewelry to parents, family, neighbors and friends. Students and classrooms are rewarded with various prizes and incentives throughout the length of this fundraiser. The schools retain 50% of the student sales.

Blizzard Ball (February)

The Blizzard Ball is our school’s largest community building event and our largest fundraiser. Blizzard Ball is an evening out with dinner, auctions and dancing for parents. Each classroom designs and creates an auction item that is sold during a live auction. There are also many silent auction items available to bid on. Families can participate through attending the Ball, donating materials, items or giving time to create projects. The true cost of educating our students is more than the Diocesan approved “Catholic Rate.” The proceeds from the Blizzard Ball will go toward making up this shortfall in cost versus tuition. In addition, the funds raised will be applied to budget items such as: Performing Arts, Yearbook, Music, Technology, and Continuing Education for our teachers.

Eagle Card Program

The Eagle Card program is a year-round fundraising venture in which parents voluntarily participate. Eagle Cards are merchant gift cards that are used to purchase goods and services at participating businesses. The school purchases merchant gift cards at a discount and sells them at face value keeping the difference as profit. For example, if you purchase a $25 gift certificate to a local restaurant you will spend $25. There is no additional cost to you. You can purchase Eagle Cards in the elementary school office. Families have a great opportunity to become a regular customer and sign-up for recurring orders on a monthly basis. In addition, parents can earn 1 hour of volunteer time for each $100 spent on gift cards up to 5 hours.

Community Building Program

SJB’s Community Building Program is a great opportunity to build community spirit within our school, parish and local community. SJB partners with local businesses throughout the school year to offer a day or evening out with your family for lunch, dinner or entertainment. This is a great way for local businesses to advertise and promote themselves and also donate a portion of the proceeds back to the school.

Smith’s Earn & Learn (need to re-enroll each year)

Smith’s donates $1,000,000 each year to local participating schools through their Earn and Learn Program. If you have a Smith’s Rewards card, you can link it to SJB Schools and become a participant in the Earn and Learn Program. Simply log into SMITHS and click on Smiths Rewards --> Earn and Learn --> Enroll --> Community Rewards --> Earn and Learn Information --> Enter School Code 82211 and select St. John the Baptist. You are now enrolled and will help the school each time you use your rewards card at Smith’s. SJB Schools will receive an allocation of the $1,000,000 based on the percentage of purchases made by participants linked to St. John the Baptist compared with purchases made by all Earn and Learn participants.

General Mills Box Tops for Education Labels

Clip the Box Tops for Education labels from hundreds of participating products and send them to school with your student. Each box top is worth 10 cents when our school redeems them from General Mills. You can also shop at your favorite online stores through the Box Tops Marketplace. Up to 15 box tops per $10 spent on qualifying purchases are automatically donated to our school.

Target

Through the Take Charge of Education program, Target will donate 1% of your Target® Visa® and Target® Card purchases to our school.  If you have a Target Visa or Target Card, you can designate Saint John the Baptist Schools as your school of choice by logging in at TARGET and clicking “manage my RED card” at the bottom of that page. Click on Rewards and Benefits and then click on Enroll Take Charge of Education.

Campbell’s Labels for Education

Collect Campbell’s soup labels, UPC’s and beverage caps from participating products and send them to school with your student.  Our school will earn points that can be redeemed for new academic, art and athletic equipment. For a complete list of participating products please visit Labels for Education.

Ronald McDonald House Pull Tabs

This is a year-round effort that allows students to collect pull tabs from aluminum cans (any type). The pull tabs are recycled for cash to help pay for operating costs of Ronald McDonald House.  The Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to stay with children undergoing serious surgery, illness, or treatments.  Just place the tabs in a plastic Ziploc and send it to the school office.
